Mutilator of Chinese Student to Face Death Penalty

ILLINOIS - Education is supposed to make a person better not worse. On Monday, a murder case of a Chinese student at the University of Illinois finally reached its conclusion. Brendt Christensen (29) was found guilty of murdering the deceased Yingying Zhang (26) in June 2017.

Moreover, Brendt seemed to show no remorse as his expressionless countenance persisted during the court. It only took 90 minutes for the court to state that he was guilty of all charges. The verdicts which await Brendt are either death penalty of life imprisonment.

The prosecutor told that Brendt once kidnapped Zhang who was on her way home at a bus station. He took her to his apartment and did his misdeeds there.

The court was attended by Zhang’s parents, Ronggao Zhang (father) and Lifeng Ye (mother). Lifeng Ye could not handle her tears and had to be consoled, while Ronggao Zhang thanked the jurors for giving Brendt exactly what he deserved, an eye for an eye and death for death.

Meanwhile, Zhang’s body has not been found. The family is still grieving over Zhang’s death, however, the police ensured the family that the body of their beloved daughter is going to be found, as the wish of Zhang’s family.
