Mt.Fuji in Summer - All Trails Are Closed

In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, Shizuoka Prefecture has established a policy to close the three mountain trails on the Shizuoka Prefecture side of Mt. Fuji, which usually opens in early July. The mountain trails on the Yamanashi side have already been closed, and all-mountain trails at Mt. Fuji are expected to be closed during the summer season.

Fuji's three mountain trails managed by the prefecture during the two-month period from July 10 to September 10, which is the opening period. This is because if there are crowds of mountaineers, there is concern that the new coronavirus will be infected, and all-mountain huts on the route will also be closed. Yamanashi Prefecture announced on May 15 that it will close the mountain trail “Yoshida Route” at the same time. It was judged that there is a high risk of infection in mountain huts and mountain trails that are crowded with mountaineers.

The mountain hut association on the Fujinomiya route on the Shizuoka side has decided to close all mountain huts this summer. The mountain hut association on the Yamanashi Prefecture's "Yoshida Route" trails have also been decided to be closed, and this is expected to close all trails at Mt. Fuji during the summer season.
