Mitsubishi Heavy Industries' asset seizure "public notice delivery" takes effect Former Women's Volunteer Corps proceedings
The Daejeon District Court received a final decision in November 2018 when the South Korean Supreme Court ordered Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to compensate in a lawsuit by former Korean women's laborers. The "public notice delivery", which allegedly sent a hearing regarding the seizure of the company's assets in South Korea, came into effect on the 29th.
The public notice was delivered on October 29, posted by the district court, and is now considered to have been notified of the two plaintiffs. It will take effect on the other two plaintiffs remaining on the 30th.
For Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, the public notice of the sale of assets will take effect on November 10. The plaintiffs are demanding the sale of their assets, and the foreclosure will take effect and the procedure will proceed. However, it is expected that it will take more time to cash the assets for sale.
Regarding Nippon Steel (formerly Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal), the same procedure was taken in the so-called former recruitment lawsuit, but the company immediately appealed the foreclosure order. It is not approved in the first trial, and the trial continues in the higher trial.
