Minister of Health Terawan Remove Corona term PDP, ODP, and OTG

Minister of Health Terawan Agus Putranto remove the use of the terms patient under surveillance (PDP), monitoring person (ODP), and asymptomatic person (OTG) in the corona virus case (Covid-19).

This was stated in the Minister of Health Decree HK.01.07 / MENKES / 413/2020 concerning the Prevention and Control of Corona Virus Disease which was signed by Terawan on Monday (13/7). The decree was confirmed by the Head of the Ministry of Health's Communication and Community Services Bureau, Widyawati.

In chapter three of the Minister of Health, Terawan replaced the term PDP again as a suspect case, ODP was replaced by the term close contact, and OTG was replaced as a case of confirmation without symptoms.

Criteria for suspected cases, namely people with acute respiratory infections (ARI) and within the last 14 days before symptoms appear, have a history of traveling to areas with local transmission and or have a history of contact with a confirmed case (probable) Covid-19.

People with ARI / pneumonia who need treatment in hospital are also included in suspected cases.

The next new term is a probable case, namely a suspect with a severe ARI who died with a convincing clinical picture of Covid-19, but there are no results of laboratory tests of rapid tests and PCR (RT-PCR).

Next is the confirmation case, which is someone who tested positive for Covid-19 virus as evidenced by a RT-PCR laboratory examination.

This confirmation case is divided into two, confirmation cases with symptoms (symptomatic) and confirmation cases without symptoms (asymptomatic).

Then the term close contact, is a person who has a history of contact with a probable case or Covid-19 confirmation. Forms of contact history can be face-to-face within a radius of 1 meter and a period of 15 minutes or more or physical touch.

Then another term, a travel agent, that is someone who traveled from domestic (domestic) or abroad in the last 14 days.

Also known as the term discarded to refer to patients cured. Discarded, that is, if a person with suspicious case status after the results of RT-PCR examination is twice negative for consecutive times with an interval of 24 hours.

The term discarded also refers to someone with close contact status who has completed the 14-day quarantine period.
