Melania Trump enjoys nature-themed Japan cultural experience

TOKYO – The first lady of the United States, Melania Trump, arrived in Japan on Saturday, May 25, to accompany her husband. During her visit to Japan, Mrs. Trump had the chance to enjoy Japanese cultural experience Monday at Akasaka Place. In there, she learned about bamboo trunks that can create music as well as become flower vases.

Melania Trump was not alone—she was accompanied by Japanese first lady, Akie Abe. Together, they watched a performance using shakuhachi bamboo flute, which was played by Yosuke Irie. After that, they learned about the bamboo installation that turned into set of vases. Kumiko Kato, a flower artist, built a sculpture of it.

Mrs. Abe taught her how to summon carp at a pond in the garden—she told Mrs. Trump to clap her hands. Not long after, the fish raced to her.
Children also made effort by performing a Japanese dance. The performance was enjoyed by Mrs. Trump, and she said it was the first time she saw that. A little boy from the dance group also gave Mrs. Trump a bouquet of flowers. She loved it, but the boy had to be dragged out of the room. However, the little boy replied that he only wanted to spend more time with guests.
