Meghan Markle Will Not Meet Donald Trump on His Upcoming Meeting with the Royal Family

Meghan Markle, The Duchess of Sussex, reportedly will not be meeting Donald Trump during his three-day visit to the UK which starts on June 3.

The Duchess of Sussex is technically still on maternity leave after giving birth to her first son Archie Harrison and has not yet resumed to public engagements. However, due to her past critical comments to the president, it is also assumed that she is not too upset to be missing out the chance to meet him.

During her appearance on The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore in 2016, Meghan commented on President Trump as ‘divisive’ and ‘misogynistic’. She also said that there was a moment when she filmed her series Suits in Toronto and just wanted to stay in Canada. She later added that the reason she supported Hillary Clinton in the election was not that she is a woman, but Trump had made it easy for her to see that she did not want to be in the kind of world Trump was going to create.

According to the president’s official schedule trip, he, First Lady Melania Trump, and his children will visit the Buckingham Palace and welcomed by Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles, and his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Despite not meeting his fellow American, President Trump will spend his time with Markle’s husband, Prince Harry, during a private lunch. Later that afternoon, he will meet Prince William and Kate Middleton for a private tea session.
