Meeting of two rival trade wars at G20 Summit

The meeting of 20 world leaders at G20 Summit was held in Osaka, Japan. In Summit which began on Friday (6/28), raised theme about important issues regarding innovation in the digital economy and efforts to overcome the gap. Not only that, trade war problem between US and China was also being focus in two-day meeting. No wonder all eyes are focused on United States President, Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

After the first day was dominated by a narrative of friendship, today G20 will enter one important round. This time, US and China, who have a big influence on global economy will meet each other and have a dialogue about trade war between them.

This dialogue starts with a positive tone. The American president said that they were ready to record history by conducting a fair trade agreement. Trump feels confident that he can do it and hopes this meeting with Xi Jinping will be productive. Xi also praised the dialogue conducted. He said that dialogue can provide better results than direct confrontation.

Even so, Trump warned that if this dialogue fails, he will set a tariff on all Chinese imported products.

Quoted from Xinhua, Trump is currently not charging new import duties for Chinese products. This decision was taken in honor of ongoing discussions between China and the US regarding trade wars.
