Matrix 4 in Production: Stahelski

Matrix fans, grab your popcorn. John Wick 3’s director, Chad Stahelski, stated that the fourth installment of the bullet-stopping franchise is in production. Not reboot, nor remake, but a sequel to the third Matrix. But, do not get it wrong, folks. Stahelski did not direct Matrix, Wachowskis did.

Stahelski just spilt the beans that Wachowskis are now in thought of bringing back the franchise, having been buried for 20 years. Fun fact, Stahelski was a stunt, and he did that for Keanu Reeves, who plays the blood-thirsty-assassin-but-who-loves-his-dog John Wick, and as the saviour of the Matrix, Neo.

Released 20 years ago, Matrix tells story about a man called Thomas Anderson, later known as Neo, who was chosen to save the Matrix from the menace of Agent Smith. Long story short, after betrayal and being blinded (Spoiler Alert!) Neo fought hundreds of thousands of Agent Smith-es (yes, they multiply by corrupting people by their extensive touch). In the end, Neo had to sacrifice himself to save the world.

From Matrix movie, some artists managed to get their career paths boosted such as Lawrence Fishburne (who played as Morpheus), Keanu Reeves (Neo), Sandra Bullock (Trinity), and the infamous Agent Smith played by Hugo Weaving. Keanu Reeves was later cast to be John Wick, blessed with three installments currently.

Despite the enthusiasm of Stahelski when announcing this good news, Stahelski could not give any name about how and who are involved in the making. He was not even sure that Lana Wachowski would direct the next Matrix.

The lingering question now is what will they do in the next Matrix? Will they revive Neo or Agent Smith? Or, will they continue threatening the Matrix and sending someone with a once boring life into the mess? The answer has to wait until the next announcement is made. Stay tuned!
