Massive Explosion in Sweden, 19 People Injured

Linkoping, Sweden - A spokesman for Swedish police, Bjorn Oberg, confirmed that, on Friday (7/6), at least 19 people were injured in the explosion which also damaged a number of buildings in Linkoping, Sweden and the police immediately sent the personnel to the scene to conduct an investigation.

Oberg stated on Reuters that, many people reported there was a big explosion that caused several windows to be destroyed. So far, they have been able to confirm that a number of people suffered minor injuries and closed the site for several blocks

However, Oberg could not confirm or give an estimate of the cause of the explosion. Local authorities said that 19 people were injured in the explosion and Linkoping University as well and several other medical facilities were asked to help treating the victims.

While the authorities are still investigating the cause of the explosion, several media outlets have begun to show videos taken when the explosion occurred. In the video, a large explosion destroyed the windows and balconies of a five-story residential building, also damaged other buildings that concerned many local residences.
