Marriott to open 2nd Courtyard Hotel in Osaka

Marriott has signed a deal to open a second Courtyard hotel in Osaka. Owned by Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing but rented and operated by Sun Frontier Fudousan, the new-build Courtyard by Marriott Osaka Honmachi hotel is expected to open in late 2019.

The hotel will be the second Courtyard by Marriott in Osaka following Courtyard by Marriott Shin Osaka Station which opened in 2015. “We are very excited to continue growing our reach in Japan with the Courtyard by Marriott brand,” said Paul Foskey, Chief Development Officer, Asia Pacific, Marriott International, “The expansion of our hotels reflects a solid increase in the demand of both business and leisure travelers in the cosmopolitan Japanese city, and we are here to deliver our international standards of hospitality through our exciting collaboration with Sun Frontier Fudosan and its subsidiary, Sun Frontier Hotel Management Inc.”

Courtyard by Marriott Osaka Honmachi will offer 193 guest rooms and suites. The hotel will feature an all-day dining venue that features an open kitchen concept and serves buffet and à-la-carte options. The venue is also accessible from the street, attracting a mix of guests and Osaka locals. The hotel’s other features will include a meeting room, fitness room and a public bath.

Located in the Honmachi area facing the main street, Chuo Dori central boulevard, Courtyard by Marriott Osaka Honmachi is situated within an one-minute walk from Sakaisuji Honmachi Station. The 17-story hotel also offers convenient access to various tourist attractions in Osaka including Semba Center Building containing more than 1,000 wholesalers, retail and dining facilities located in and around Shinsaibashi and Nagahoribashi areas. Other attractions including the historic Osaka Castle and Universal Studios Japan is all within easy access from the hotel.
