Manga Gintama finally officially ended after 15 years serializatio

After two failed attempts, this time the Gintama manga was officialy finished. This was announced through the newest chapter, chapter 704, which was released on June 20.

On the last page of this 59-page chapter, Sorachi Hideaki as Gintama mangaka, thanked fans who have been always following Gintama for this 15 years. Later, volume 77, which will be the last edition of Gintama, will be released on August 2, 2019. Reportedly, there’s be a final book of a large character that will be released after the last volume containing 603 pages was released.

Previously, Gintama manga was rumored to be finished in chapter 698, which indeed had reached the last line of the story. But it turns out that the story of this curly-haired swordsman hasn't finished yet. Instead, it only moves publishers to Jump GIGA, which is also still a family from Weekly Shonen Jump.

Gintama is a Japanese manga by Sorachi Hideaki that has a background in the Edo era. This manga was first published in 2003. Gintama tells the story of the daily life of Sakata Gintoki as the main character. Together with his two human friends and one dog, he had a business called "Yorozuya". They were willing to do any task as long as they were paid so they could finance their daily lives.

This manga has great popularity. Even outside Japan. In 2013, this manga sold over 44 million copies. Not only that, this 704 chapter manga was also adapted into anime and live action.
