preparation for new normal in jakarta

Malls Apply the System 100% Without Touch to prevent Covid-19

Malls in DKI Jakarta are allowed to open again on Monday (6/15) tomorrow. The operation of the mall will implement the strict Corona health protocol (COVID-19).

Chairperson of the DKI Jakarta DPD Indonesian Shopping Center Management Association, Ellen Hidayat said that he had made various preparations to succeed the COVID-19 health protocol. Even a number of malls have prepared sophisticated tools without touch or touchless to suppress the spread of viruses.

"Some malls indeed improve equipment with touchless. The aim is to increase avoidance of contact and so that visitors are more confident and brave to the mall," Ellen told AFP on Sunday (6/14/2020).

For example, at Emporium Pluit Mall, which runs a 100% touchless program, i.e. hand wash basin, hand washing soap and hand sanitizer are prepared automatically without touch. Likewise with the elevator button that uses sensors so that visitors do not need to touch it.

Emporium Pluit Mall has also used the no-touch parking system, both for entry and parking payments. An isolation room complete with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and standard P3K COVID-19 equipment is also provided, in collaboration with the nearest Health Care Facility.

Even to support the program initiated by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan that encourages residents to use bicycles in their daily activities, Emporium Pluit Mall provides bicycle parking and a bicycle room for cyclists.

The mall has also prepared physical distancing such as marking and restrictions in the elevator, the distance to ride the escalator, as well as customer queue restrictions. The use of masks, face shields and gloves must also be used by all officers in the mall.

The use of computerized thermal scans, the use of barcode scans to check in and check out visitor arrivals to monitor the capacity of visitors in the mall in real time, calls for the use of cashless payments in all tenants, and also restrictions on visitor capacity in the food court and the area within the tenant unit.

Ellen asked people not to worry about visiting the Mall, as long as they obeyed all the rules and instructions in the mall for the common good and health.
