MacOS is more prone to malware: Experts

A cybersecurity firm based in the United States (U.S), Malwarebytes, released a report stating that Apple’s macOS is more prone to malware than its competitor, Windows. Malwarebytes explained that it is because Apple tends to ignore the malware and labels it “Safe”. Meanwhile, the malware is actually dangerous since crackers tend to attach malware to download links.

As cited by U.S Today, Malwarebytes saw many adware and potentially unwanted programs. Therefore, Malwarebytes added that Apple failed to protect its reputation as the safest OS from malware.

Compared to 2018, the rate of cybercrime targeting MacOS and Apple products went up by 40 percent.

Frankly saying, Malwarebytes even called the Apple fans “dreaming” if they think that MacOS is still a fortress compared to Windows. Cybersecurity experts explained that macOS is established on a UNIX platform with the GUI user interface. Since the beginning, the UNIX platform is weak and prone to hack-and-crack activities.

Moreover, the concept where MacOS is more formidable than Windows is said as baseless and fake.

How is it true? It is evident that many companies in the U.S use Windows-powered PC rather than iMacs. Not only expensive but also a Windows computer is safer and stronger.

In the end, the cybersecurity experts said that Apple fans need to wake up and smell the coffee. macOS is no longer the safest OS in the world, and Windows OS remains stronger to protect itself against hackers and crackers.
