Liverpool and Tottenham supporters ask for promoters to give back tickets

Liverpool and Tottenham fans are asking on sponsors to give back some of their Champions League ticket portions to fans going to Madrid for watching the final match.

The Champions league all-English final match will be held in Wanda Metropolitan, the home stadium of Atlético Madrid with the near-64,000 capacity. Both Liverpool and Tottenham have received 16,613 tickets respectively for the June 1 final game.

There were approximately 22,300 tickets accessible to the UEFA and national associations, promoters and broadcasters, the local organizing committee and to provide the corporate hospitality programme.

Due to the high demand for the tickets exceed supply and fans clubs merely get less than 25 percent of available tickets, Liverpool’s fans club Spirit of Shankly (SOS) and the Tottenham Hotspur Supporter Trust (THST) have requested to sponsors to take into consideration giving some of their tickets quota back to fans who will miss out the biggest match of their beloved club.

The Independent official fan group of the Reds and Tottenham, SOS and THST release a joint statement. They are calling on the main promotors to give back the Champions League final tickets allocation they have obtained to both Liverpool and Tottenham fans club.

They ask major sponsors of the UEFA Champions League like Nissan, Playstation, Gazprom, PepsiCo, Banco Santander, Mastercard, Heineken, and Expedia Group

to help rectify the balance in current unfair portions for clubs.

SOS and THST sure if the sponsors agree to help them, many enthusiastic supporters will come to the stadium and it would increase the sponsor’s brands position on a global scale.

"We also ask that each sponsor lobbies UEFA to allocate tickets for future finals on a fairer, more equitable spilled that has supporters benefit." SOS and THST said.
