List of Easing Health Protocol Rules: Remove Mask and Remove PCR

CNN Indonesia – The Covid-19 Handling Task Force (Satgas) stated that Indonesia
has entered a transition period from a pandemic to an epidemic of the corona
virus.
“We
are already in the transition from pandemic to epidemic, the pandemic has not
been completed globally and that has been determined by WHO, and we have
entered a transitional period,” said Covid-19 Task Force spokesman Wiku Adisasmito
at a press conference on Tuesday 17th May.
The Minister
of Coordinating for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Muhadjir Effendy
also said that Indonesia had de facto already headed for the Covid-19 endemic.
Muhadjir
said the condition refers to the data on Covid-19 in Indonesia. These include
the number of active cases, the positivity rate, the hospital occupancy rate,
and the low mortality rate.
This
condition was then followed by a number of relaxations for community activities
and the easing of the Covid-19 health protocol. Some of them are:
Take of Mask in an Open Area
Indonesian
president Joko Widodo (Jokowi) decided to easing the use of masks amid the Covid-19
conditions in Indonesia. The policy came into effect on Wednesday 18th
May.
However,
Jokowi stressed that the use of masks still applies to residents who carry out
activities in closed rooms and public transportation.
“First,
government has decided to easing the policy on wearing mask,” said Jokowi, as broadcast
live via the Presidential Secretariat’s youtube channel.
"If
people are doing outdoor activities or in open areas that are not crowded with
people, then it is okay not to wear masks," he added.
The use
of masks still applies to people who are categorized as vulnerable, elderly,
have congenital or comorbid diseases and symptoms of Covid-19.
No need for PCR and antigen if the
vaccine dose is complete
After
Indonesia was declared to be entering a transition period, the government
decided to abolish the examination policies related to the corona virus, namely
PCR and rapid antigen tests. The policy also came into effect on Wednesday 18th
of May.
The
easing of the policy only applies to Overseas Travelers and Domestic Travelers
who have received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine or a booster dose.
"For
domestic and foreign travelers who have received the full dose, there is no
need to carry out PCR or antigen tests anymore," Jokowi said in a
statement broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube channel, Tuesday 17th
of May.
