LG deploys noodles-making robots in S. Korea

It is time for the robots to take over the kitchen. South Korean (S. Korea) tech giant, LG Electronics, announced that it is trying its noodles-making robot at a family restaurant in Seoul. The robot, named Cloi Chefbot, is serving noodles at Veep Buffet, a family restaurant under CJ Foodville located in Deungchon, Seoul.

The preparation is pretty much simple. The customers just need to deliver the bowl with the ingredients they want for the noodles to the Chefbot. Like its name, then the Chefbot will prepare the noodles and broth or gravy and serve it in the previous bowl. The entire process only takes a minute.

The customers then take the food with them. Bon appétit.

The development of Cloi Chefbot required the study of chef’s movement to be implemented into the Chefbot; thus, avoiding fatal mistakes such as dropping bowls or utensils and others.

The installation of Chefbot at CJ Foodville’s restaurant is the form of collaboration between LG Electronics and CJ Foodville since April 2019. In the future, CJ Foodville claimed that more Chefbots would take the role in latter venues.

Not only Chefbot but LG also installed Cloi at a children's hospital in Seoul.

Since late 2018, LG Electronics had formed a new division in robotics under the supervision of the CEO as an expansion to its business.
