LDP presidential election, activation of policy debate Emphasizing differences between Mr. Kishida, Mr. Ishiba, and Mr. Kan
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga (71), Fumio Kishida Chairman (63), Shigeru Ishiba (Former Secretary-General) (63), who are running for the election of the Liberal Democratic Party governor are activating the policy debate. They discussed the new coronavirus countermeasures and economic policies, and emphasized the difference from Mr. Suga's "inheritance" route, which was absent from the program due to typhoon No. 10.
Mr. Kishida supported the basic policy of the government that "infectious disease countermeasures and economic measures are two wheels of the car" regarding the new corona measures. Mr. Suga stated in a policy collection released on the 5th for secure vaccines for all citizens by the first half of next year. Mr. Kishida recognizes that it is urgently necessary to expand the PCR test system to resume economic activity. Mr. Ishiba enumerates poverty such as management difficulties of medical institutions regarding the government's view that the medical field is not tight even now based on the decrease in severely ill patients of the new corona.
Mr. Suga says he will succeed to Prime Minister Abe's economic policy "Abenomics," while Mr. Kishida is enthusiastic to revise it with a "rich society with few gaps." Mr. Ishiba pointed out that he might have been relying too much on foreign countries for Abenomics, which was trying to expand external demand by inducing yen depreciation, and is aiming for a "domestic demand-led, regional dispersion" economy.
