Last 2 Japanese fraud suspects to be deported from the Philippines

The Philippine government is planning to deport the two remaining fraud suspects to Japan on Wednesday. The men are also suspected of being involved in a series of robberies in Japan.

Watanabe Yuki and Kojima Tomonobu are among the four suspects that Japan asked the Philippines to repatriate. Japanese police officials have obtained arrest warrants for them. The men are suspected of fraud.

Fujita Toshiya and Imamura Kiyoto were repatriated to Japan on Tuesday.

The deportations of Watanabe and Kojima were delayed because they were facing unrelated criminal charges in the Philippines. But, the cases against them were dismissed on Tuesday.

Philippine government officials and Japanese representatives discussed the matter on Tuesday afternoon. They came to an agreement that paves the way for the men to be deported on Wednesday night.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is set to visit Japan on Wednesday. It will be his first trip to the country since he took office. The Philippine government wanted to repatriate all four suspects before the president's visit.
