KPK's officers to be vaccinated for COVID-19 today
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) commenced the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) program on Thursday. The vaccination program for KPK is going to run for six days. The news was confirmed by the Spokesperson of KPK's Enforcement, Ali Fikri.
For the first day, the COVID-19 jabs are reserved for the Deputy of Enforcement, Deputy of Coordination and Supervision, Supervisory Board, and Secretariat of Supervisory Board. Ali stated that the vaccination for KPK will start from 18 February to 23 February 2021 at Gedung Juang KPK. After that, the convicted and journalists are vaccinated. Therefore, no one is left behind.
The vaccination program is a part of an acceleration effort to control the COVID-19 pandemic in KPK. The second phase of COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia targets the officers of public services, such as education practitioners, religious figures, representatives of the people, government officials, and civil servants. Then, the vaccination targets the security officials and officials from the tourism, hotel, and restaurant sectors.
Civil servants include the firefighters, officials from Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), Region-Owned Enterprises (BUMD), Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS), and head of villages. Next, the employees of public transportations, athletes, reporters, and other media workers.
The second phase targets around 16.9 million public officers and 21.5 million elderly people. The vaccination will be done in seven provinces in Java Island - Bali.
Previously on Wednesday, the merchants at Tanah Abang market had been vaccinated as well. The President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), the Governor of Jakarta, Anies Baswedan, and the Health Minister, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, also monitored the COVID-19 vaccination that targeted thousands of merchants.
