Korean drama "Weak Hero Class 1," about the hierarchy of high school students, is about to boom! Action & making-of videos all over the place!

This drama landed in Japan for the first time and was distributed exclusively on Hulu from May 27 (8 episodes). The following is a compilation of 4 videos of the trailer, action scenes, interviews, and making-of footage of the film.

This school action drama is based on a popular web comic in which Yeon Shi-eun, an honor student who is bullied relentlessly in school despite her outstanding intelligence, gains her first friend and fights against numerous forms of violence. The main character, Yeon Shi-woon, is played by Park Ji-hoon, a member of the boy group "Wanna One" and a highly popular solo artist, who takes on his first action role. The film co-stars Hong Kyung, who won the Best Male Newcomer Award in the 2021 film category at the "Baeksang Art Awards," Choi Hyun-wook, Shin Seung-ho, Lee Yeon, who were all nominated for the Best Newcomer Award in 2022, and other talented actors of the next generation. An honor student played by Park Ji-hoon confronts unreasonable violence in this trailer. He asks his cousin Jung Seok-tae (Shin Seung-ho), the leader of an underground organization of runaway youths, for help, but the plan fails when Ahn Su-ho (Choi Hyeon-wook) and Oh Bum-suk (Hong Kyung) show up just in time. This brings the organization's boss, Kim Gil-su (Na Cheol), into disrepute, and Si Woon, Su-ho, and Bum-suk end up turning against the backroom organization. The eight episodes depict the real conflicts and hierarchy among high school students, which are brought to light through bullying and violence. In the trailer, we see Si Woong, who is caught by Seok Tae and surrounded by five men and is in desperate need of help, but he uses calm judgment and strategy to stand alone. However, Seok-tae, who has blundered, is threatened by the merciless Gil-su to bring the settlement money, and the friendship between the three begins to fray with the arrival of Yeon (Lee Young), a runaway girl who belongs to the organization. With only his brain as his weapon, will Si Woong be able to come up with a plan that will bring him back from the brink of death? This trailer raises expectations for the full-length feature film. No Substitutes! The first time Ahn Su-ho becomes a friend of Si Woong's. Check out the video clip of the action scene with Choi Hyeon-wook, who plays the role of Ahn Su-ho. Jung Yong-bin, who had been having a hard time with Shi-eun's refusal to give in to violence, finally succeeds in cornering Shi-eun when she asks for Seok-tae's help. Shi Woong, helpless, continues to endure the one-sided violence of Yong-bin and others, but then the free-spirited but righteous Ahn Su-ho dash into the scene and scores a flying kick against Yong-bin! In playing the role of Su-ho, who has martial arts experience, Hyun-wook took on the challenge of action for the first time. After about four months of practice, he performed exhilarating and speedy action. The highlight of the film is the numerous footwork moves that he performs using his 181cm height, especially the breathtaking back-and-forth battle between Su-ho and Seok-tae. In 2021, Choi Hyun-wook received the SBS Acting Grand Prize for Rookie of the Year for his excellent performances as a delinquent student in the drama "Revenge Agent - Model Taxi" and as a naive middle school student who spends his youth playing badminton in "Racket Boys' Club". He was also selected as the "Most Influential New Male Actor" at the Brand Customer Royalty Awards 2022, and his performance in the coming-of-age ensemble drama "25 and 21" also confirmed his popularity. He also worked with director Han Joon-hee, the creative director of this film, on the drama "D.P.: Deserter Tracker," which won the 2022 Hyaksoo Art Award for Best Television Work, and has already been cast in season 2 of the drama. The making-of and interview videos that show the passion for the film and their vulnerable smiles are a must-see. To commemorate today's distribution, a making-of and cast interview video that shows the cast reading the script before crank-in and behind-the-scenes footage of the filming of episodes 1 and 2 has also been released. The three main cast members, Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook, and Hong Kyung, met for the first time to read the scripts together. While Ji-hoon and Hyun-wook expressed their enthusiasm, only Kyung modestly commented, "I will do my best. ...... He is already the very same shy Bom-suk who plays the character. When the three were then asked about the characters they play, Ji-hoon said, "Shi-woon is a smart kid who uses his head and survives in a jungle-like school," and Hyon-wook said, "Su-ho is innocent and free-spirited. He meets and builds friendships with Si Woong and Bum Suk during their boring school days." Kyung, who plays Oh Bum-seok, the son of a member of the National Assembly and a target of bullying, analyzed, "I am still researching Bum-seok, but I think he is a child who has universal feelings that everyone has during his school days. As for the features of the film, "The parts that bothered me when I read the original work are expressed well in the drama," he said, and Shi Woong also expressed her pride, "I think it is portrayed more realistically than the original work. Hyun-wook said, "You can see things in the drama that you can't see in the original work," and each expressed confidence that the expression and content of the drama are unique to the drama. In a video taken on the first day of filming, he was asked, "Were you good at studying? Ji-hoon is seen mischievously answering, "From the back (laughs)," and Kim Su-gyeom, who plays Jung Young-bin who harasses Si Woon in the drama, and Ji-hoon are seen chatting amiably with each other. The behind-the-scenes footage of the filming is an unintentionally heartwarming glimpse of these two good friends. Also, in the rehearsal of the action scene between Su-ho and the baseball team, which is one of the highlights of the first episode, we see them carefully setting up the scene, and in the action scene between Shin Seung-ho, who plays Jung Seok-tae, the leader of the underground organization, and Ji-hoon, we see Lee Young, who came to observe their fight. When asked about his enthusiasm before filming, Ji Hoon said, "I'm not afraid of Si Woong," and showed his hands shaking deliberately, showing that he was relaxed throughout the filming. Weak Hero Class 1" is truly presented by a group of up-and-coming young directors and actors who will lead the Korean drama industry in the future. We hope you will take this opportunity to check out their respective videos and enjoy the film to the fullest.
