KDDI, which caused a large-scale communication failure that
took 86 hours to announce the full recovery, decided to set up a new
specialized team led by President Makoto Takahashi to investigate the cause and
consider specific measures to prevent recurrence.
According to KDDI, the specialized team consists of
employees from a wide range of departments, including President Takahashi and
others, including technology, sales, and public relations, and has a total of
100 people.
Regarding a large-scale communication failure that took 86
hours from the early morning of this month to the announcement of full
recovery, we are urgently considering specific recurrence prevention measures
such as investigating the cause and strengthening communication equipment.
In addition, based on the indication that it was not
sufficiently known to users, we will discuss measures to improve customer
service.
KDDI says that this communication failure may have affected
up to 39.15 million users, is considering including compensation separately
from the specialized team.
The company has a policy of submitting a "report"
to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications by the 1st of next
month, and in response to this, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and
Communications will consider administrative guidance.
