Jorge Lorenzo on 'How to safe motorcycling?'

While enjoying his retirement in Bali for more than a week, the three-time MotoGP champion from Spain, Jorge Lorenzo, was willing to give safety tips to all riders about safe motorcycling. On 14 November, the three-time MotoGP champion ended his competitive career in MotoGP since 2002 with a record of 203 starts, 47 wins, and 114 podiums.

The safety in riding motorcycles needs to be enforced among the Indonesian people. Moreover, as the number of accidents on the road is rising, the bikers are the most afflicted. So, here are the tips by Lorenzo on how to stay safe while motorcycling:

1. HELMET ON
First, the Spaniard advised that all riders need to keep their helmet on while riding their motorcycle. Even though it is a short-ride. Moreover, the Indonesian Police tells that all bikers need to wear helmets with the Indonesian National Standard (SNI)-graded. SNI grading means that the helmet is designed and produced following the Indonesian government’s standards.

2. SAFETY FOR ALL PASSENGERS
Not for the bikers only but also to the hitchhiking passengers. Lorenzo reminded that helmet and all gears such as jackets, gloves, and shoes are mandatory in safe motorcycling. However, it is not limited to the riders alone.

The hitchhiking passengers are also advised to wear those, said Lorenzo. The main reason why is to minimalize the injury in times of an accident. Jokingly speaking, Lorenzo also said that not only safety but also these gears boost your self-esteem!

3. OBEY THE TRAFFIC LAWS
Besides wearing all the protective gears, Lorenzo also reminded all riders to abide by the traffic laws while riding, one of which was importance of the speed limit. Always mind the speed limit, and never speed up unless you need to, at least 40km/h.

Voila, the simple safety tips when motorcycling. We hope that you will be riding safely after reading these tips from us and Lorenzo.
