Jokowi calls 5 ministers after COVID-19 reaches gold

As Indonesia's novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases hit the 1 million record on Tuesday, the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Joko Widodo), urged his minister to reconstruct their strategies in controlling the COVID-19 in Indonesia by focusing on the enforcement of the tracing, testing, and treatment (3T). The information was revealed by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs, Muhadjir Effendy.

Speaking on Wednesday, Muhadjir stated that Jokowi had summoned and held an impromptu, closed meeting at the State Palace on Tuesday evening. Muhadjir, also the Deputy Head of COVID-19 Response and National Economic Recovery Committee (KPC-PEN), stated that the essential message from the President that the COVID-19 response now must be done "from upstream to downstream".

In other words, there must be a limited quarantine to prevent the COVID-19 outbreak. Furthermore, Jokowi also asked that the 3T should be enforced aside from washing hands, maintaining social-distancing, and wearing masks. The former Education Ministry also stated that in the closed meeting, Jokowi told his ministers to give maximum treatment for the positive COVID-19 patients, to prevent more deaths and infections.

On Tuesday, the COVID-19 positive cases in Indonesia has reached 1,012,350. Surprisingly, Indonesia reached the number in less than a year.
