Jokowi appoints new 12 ambassadors
On Monday, the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), installed 12 new Indonesian ambassadors for other countries. The appointment is according to the Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 107/P of 2020 on the Appointment of Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (LBBP) of the Republic of Indonesia. Jokowi led the recitation of the "oath of office" by the 12 new ambassadors.
The appointment ceremony was broadcast through the official YouTube account of the Presidential Secretariat while maintaining mask-wearing and social-distancing protocols for the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). The attendees of the ceremony comprised Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, and other related officials.
Here are the names of the 12 new ambassadors:
1. Dindin Wahyudin, Indonesian Ambassador for Senegal in Dakar, comprising Mali, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, Cote D'lvoire, Gabon, and Congo.
2. Roem Kono, Indonesian Ambassador for Bosnia & Herzegovina in Sarajevo.
3. Dewi Savitri Wahab, Indonesian Ambassador for Denmark in Copenhagen, comprising Lithuania.
4. Nana Yuliana, Indonesian Ambassador for Cuba in Havana, comprising Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and Haiti.
5. Heri Akhmadi, Indonesian Ambassador for Japan in Tokyo comprising Micronesian Federation.
6. Elmar Iwan Lubis, Indonesian Ambassador for Irak in Baghdad.
7. Iwan Bogananta, Indonesian Ambassador for Bulgaria in Sofia, comprising Albania and North Macedonia.
8. Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, Indonesian Ambassador for Russia in Moscow, comprising Belarus.
9. Desra Percaya, Indonesian Ambassador for the United Kingdom in London, comprising Ireland and International Maritime Organization (IMO).
10. Chalief Akbar Tjandraningrat, Indonesian Ambassador for Aljazair in Algiers.
11. Lutfi Rauf, Indonesian Ambassador for Egypt in Cairo.
12. Rachmat Budiman, Indonesian Ambassador for Thailand in Bangkok, comprising the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP).
