The survey was compiled by JETRO this month to examine the impact of the rapid depreciation of the yen on Japan's exports and imports.

Among them, when we examined the quantity of food products and machinery exported from Japan in the six months from January to June by item, we found that 1942 items, nearly half of the 4199 items, were the same as last year. It turns out that the quantity was increasing from the same period.

We can see that the depreciation of the yen has had a positive effect in some areas.

For example, in food products, fermented alcoholic beverages such as sake, seasonings such as miso and sauces, and beef are doing well. to occupy.

However, according to the trade statistics for the most recent six months from April to September, released by the Ministry of Finance this month, the overall export volume index has decreased from the same period of the previous year.

Hirotoshi Ito, director of the International Economics Division at JETRO, said, "Overall, the export volume has not increased, but the volume of nearly half of the items has increased."
