Japanese manga fans pick Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball as Japan's 'True National Manga'

Who does not know Dragon Ball? The manga and anime work by the renowned Japanese manga artist, Akira Toriyama, have been going on and on since our childhood until now. Catering fans with the adventure and battle involving the greatest Super Saiyan, Goku, Dragon Ball has spanned more than two decades. The manga, however, only spanned for 11 years from 1984 to 1995.

Even though many animes and mangas of similar theme and genre have been popping out through time, Dragon Ball never loses its charm for its loyal fanbases. The popularity of the Super Saiyan has spread from manga to games, with its fans coming from all corners of the world.

A poll, started by Goo Ranking, intended to bring out the best manga in Japan based on requests from manga fans throughout Japan. Shared on Twitter by a user, the poll ended up with Dragon Ball as the winner.

Here is the list of the top 10 from the poll of "True National Manga" by Goo Ranking:

The readers might find in the list the manga and anime that they watched during their childhood. Fans then wondering what happened to other notable works such as Bleach (Tite Kubo) and Naruto (Masashi Kishimoto).

Unfortunately, these two works did not make it to the top 10 list. Naruto sat only on the 13th position, while Bleach ranked way lower than expected on 35th. By the list, without doubt, Dragon Ball is a valuable work of art through time.
