Japan to build more water reservoir for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Japan's Solution to Prevent Water Shortage During Tokyo Olympics

TOKYO - Japan is expected to welcome 10.000 visitors from other countries, to watch Tokyo Olympics in 2020. With an enormous amount of people, Japan is worried that there will be no enough water during the olympics. This is because something horrible happened during the Tokyo Olympics in 1964.

In 1964, Japan was chosen to hold an olympic, which was named as Tokyo Olympics. During that year, rainfall in Japan is considered as low, to the point the water are not enough to provide the big event. The Tokyo Olympics 1964 was even nicknamed as 'Olympic Drought'. To solve the crisis, Japan's Self-Defense Forces and the U.S. soldiers based in Japan, were helping to provide emergency water to keep the event run.

Fearing the drought will happen again during the Tokyo Olympics 2020, Japan decided to come up with a solution. Japan is planning to build more water reservoir to provide Tokyo and surroundings having more water. They are planning to build 7 more reservoirs and see this summer if the reservoirs will be able to provide water to the hotels, restaurants, and sport venues. However, the government will make sure that it won't cut the water access to industries and residents.

The minister of infrastructure stated that they will do a water distribution simulation, but they will be careful so it won't affect the everyday lives' needs.
