Japan posts biggest trade deficit for October

Japan's Finance Ministry said on Thursday that the country posted a trade deficit of 2.1623 trillion yen, or about 15.5 billion dollars, last month.

The figure is the largest for the month of October.

The depreciation of the yen and the surge in energy-related costs led to an increase in imports.
