Japan New Border Measures for Iran and Indonesia.

As of March 30, new border measures for new corona virus infection in Japan. After midnight on April 1, returnees and immigrants from the following countries will not be required to wait at the accommodation facility of the quarantine station.

1.         Iran
2.         Indonesia
   

The border measures will be change for these two countries. For all immigrants and returnees from Iran and Indonesia, until now have to wait for 3 days at the designated place (limited to accommodations secured by the quarantine station), and on the third day after entering Japan, it was supposed to be inspected, but from midnight on April 1, for those who are negative in the inspection at the time of entry, will not be required to wait at the place designated by the quarantine station director and to be inspected on the third day after entry. They only have to stay at home for 7 days after entering Japan.

Target countries or regions that have to wait for 3 days at the accommodation facility of the quarantine station (8 countries):

1.         Egypt
2.         South Korea
3.         Saudi Arabia
4.         Sri Lanka
   
5.         Turkey
   
6.         Pakistan
   
7.         Vietnam
   
8.         All over Russia
   

    Change of waiting period such as home after entering Japan

1. Quarantine station for returnees / immigrants from designated countries / regions who have not been vaccinated for the third time. If the result of the test received at the accommodation is negative, you will be asked to wait for 3 days at the accommodation. We will not ask you to wait   at home after that.
2. 7 days in principle for returnees / immigrants from designated countries / regions who have been vaccinated for the third time. After deciding to wait at home, etc., the result of the inspection voluntarily received after the third day after entering Japan is negative. If it is negative, we will not ask you to continue waiting at home after that.
3. For those who have returned or entered the country from other than the designated country / region and have not been vaccinated for the third time. After deciding to wait for 7 days at home, etc., the conclusion of the inspection voluntarily taken after the 3rd day after entering Japan. If the result is negative, we will not ask you to continue waiting at home. 
4. Returnees / immigrants from countries other than the designated countries / regions who have been vaccinated for the third time will not be required to wait at home after entering Japan.

About the use of public transportation after entering Japan

You can use public transportation even during the waiting period at home, only if you move to your home within 24 hours after entering Japan.

Designation of countries / regions where mutant strains other than Omicron strains are confirmed to be dominant

If a country / region where it is confirmed that a mutant strain other than the Omicron strain is dominant is specified separately, for returnees/immigrants from that country/region, a period of waiting at home are 14 days.

Review of new entry restrictions for foreigners

Regarding new entry of foreigners, new entry for purposes other than tourism is permitted under the control of the person in charge of acceptance.
