Jakarta Car Free Day is reopen and open until 10:00 AM

Car free day in Jakarta will reopen on June 21. It starts right at 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. along Sudirman-Thamrin Street.

The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta limits the free time of motorized vehicles (HBKB) or car free days on Jalan Sudirman-Thamrin only until 10:00 WIB. Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo said the policy took effect on June 21.

"Until 10 o'clock," Syafrin said via text message, Friday (6/19).

Syafrin explained that the car free day time was reduced because currently the large-scale social limitation (PSBB) transition was still in effect due to the corona virus pandemic (Covid-19).

Therefore, according to him, it is reasonable if the car free day time is shortened from the original until 11.00 WIB, now it will be held until 10:00 WIB.

During the activity, visitors must implement the Covid-19 prevention protocol established by the government. Activities that gather mass are also not allowed to prevent crowds. Visitors are required to bring spare masks, dry and wet tissues, non-cash payment instruments, hand sanitizers, personal drinking bottles and plastic bags.

During this transition period, pregnant women, children under 9 years and the elderly over the age of 60 years are prohibited from visiting the car free day area due to susceptibility to contracting the Covid-19 virus.
