Jack Dorsey: DuckDuckGo is better than Google

The CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, went frontal when it comes to search engine. In his tweet, Dorsey said that he preferred DuckDuckGo to Google.

Known for its privacy, Dorsey hailed DuckDuckGo as his default browser. Especially, after Google's data-gathering scandal.

DuckDuckGo was more than thrilled to read the tweet. The Google’s rival then responded to the tweet by welcoming Dorsey to the “Duck” side.

Unlike Google, DuckDuckGo does not gather data of its users based on the searches; hence, the search engine is not prone to targeted ads, nor personalized search results.

While DuckDuckGo had been growing significantly in the recent two years, the amount still cannot compete with Google's when it comes to the number of users.

Google processes 3.5 billion searches monthly, while DuckDuckGo only processes 1.5 billion. However, comparing the sizes, DuckDuckGo is doing better than its more established rival by only 100 staff against 10,000 Googlers.

Google managed to establish its image as the front liner of search engines. Fortunately for DuckDuckGo, when people were asked to pick Google alternatives, DuckDuckGo got the most vote.

The reasons why people pick DuckDuckGo as the best alternative search engine are because it provides good search results, and it keep it’s hand off the users' data.

The good-looking data might crank DuckDuckGo's market share by more than 300 percent.

However, many people are still unaware that they can change their default browser on their smartphones.

Nonetheless, if one tries to change their default browser, they might experience hard times with their smartphones, showing how Google is trying to dominate the market and crush its smaller competitors.

DuckDuckGo also revealed the monopolistic tactics by Google last year when it purchased the duck.com domain and tried to sabotage DuckDuckGo by redirecting users to Google.
