Internet Data Saving Feature for Android Instagram Users

USA -  During the Eid al-Fitr yesterday on Wednesday (5/6), Instagram released a new 'data saving mode' feature, that can only be used on Android and launched specifically for countries like Phillippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, and other countries which are categorized as having limited internet connection speeds.

Based on official information, this feature is useful so that the process of loading photos and videos are faster and suppresses the use of internet data as long as users scroll their thumbs while surfing on Instagram.

Curious how to enable this feature? How to use the data saving mode feature, is by turning off the 'High Resolution Media' option. The menu can be found when the user enters 'settings', then, select 'cellular data settings'. In the 'High Resolution Media' menu there are three choices, which are 'Never', 'WiFi Only', and 'Cellular + WiFi'. Data saver mode will be active if selected 'Never'.

Instagram wrote on their post that, by activating data saving mode, Instagram will not automatically display high-resolution videos and pre-loaded photos. In that case, Instagram users have the freedom to control their internet data usage on Instagram to speed up the process of loading photos.

What do you think about this new internet data saving mode feature?
