Indonesian Government monitors 3 nationals in Wuhan

Indonesia’s Minister of Health, dr. Terawan Agus Putranto, stated that the Indonesian government is still keeping an eye on the condition of three Indonesian nationals in Hubei Province, Central China. Due to failing the screening test on the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, they failed to make it home in early February.

Not only Indonesian but also the Chinese government is monitoring the three nationals. Speaking in the Coordinating Ministry for Politics, Legal, and Security Affairs office on Friday, Terawan said that the Indonesian Embassy in China also helps monitor their recovery until now.

Terawan said that the three nationals are in good condition.

When will these three be picked up? Terawan could not give any specific date due to the Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) status imposed by the World Health Organization (WHO) on China. Since all access is clogged, there is no way the three Indonesian nationals can be brought home.

Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Politics, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud M. D., explained that the three nationals failed the screening test due to the fever. Dispersing the concern, Mahfud said that all the nationals coming home from Hubei were healthy.

Currently, there are seven Indonesian nationals in Hubei. Three failed to make it home, while four refused to go home.

Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry had sent Rp130,280,000 for the Indonesian nationals in Hubei to supply themselves with food and equipment in case of shortage.
