Indonesia govt 'invites' people for government regulations on omnibus law

The Indonesian government claimed to open an opportunity for its people to give suggestions in constructing the derivative regulation or government regulation (PP) of Omnibus Law on Job Creation. Accessible on https://uu-ciptakerja.go.id, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, stated on Monday that the official Job Creation site invites whosoever to give their suggestion.

Airlangga stated that the site is already accessible for the public and all stakeholders in perfecting the PP and Presidential Regulation (Perpres) bills draft. Moreover, the Coordinating Minister stated that the drafts will be transparent and involve the active participation of all segment of society.

He added that all related ministries and institutions will also do public socialization, publication, and consultation on the substance and material of the PP & Perpres. According to the record, there are around 44 regulations on the implementation of the Job Creation law, consisting of 40 PP bills and 4 Perpres bills. Currently, there are 19 ministries and institutions responsible for the PP and Perpres bills with 30 others finishing the compilation of the said 44 regulations.

Airlangga added that the job creation law aims to support national economic revival amid the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic by preparing Indonesia's economy to immediately recover in medium to long term and enhancing Indonesia's competitive edge amid the tight global competition.
