Hiding The Amount of "Likes", Here's What Instagram Said

Jakarta, Indonesia - With the current aesthetic and popular pictures phenomenon, Instagram becomes the most active and used social media these days. However, Aldo Rambi as the client partner of Facebook and Instagram Indonesia stated that Instagram is planning to hide the amount of Likes on its application to make the users focus more on the creative things to make videos and contents that are more meaningful and to prevent the competitive side of its users.

However, this "Likes Hidden" feature is only being tested in Canada as the country has 24 million Instagram users, making it more 'suitable' for the trial process as Aldo also mentioned. Aldo also stated that still there's no news about when is the feature going to apply in Indonesia, because the company is still waiting for the insight and impact from the other countries for this new feature.

Adam Mosseri, The Head of Instagram said that the abusive and competitive behaviors in the social media is really concerning these days and he and his team will focus on the efforts to avoid those behaviors by taking various ways.

One of the efforts, is to hide the number of 'likes' in uploads and features to limit interaction with accounts that spread hatred and even anger. In addition to that, Instagram is also preparing to add other features ranging from stickers to the ability to detect writing on captions and stories to make the users more careful and comfortable in every post.
