Heritage Travel: Trace Your Roots

Ancestry DNA test is quite popular these past years. A lot of TV talk shows have invited researchers from different ancestry DNA test services where they explain how things work and such alike. Not only that, a person from the show would do the test and revealed the result. Most of them got shocked when the test result came out. For instance, a British suddenly learned that he has a Vietnam and Mexican ancestries after taking the ancestry DNA test. Whether the result is completely true or not, but it is fun to take the test and some people would go further to find out about their ancestry.

There are quite a lot of people who would go to a certain country after getting the result from the test. They would learn more about the history of the country and try to find their long lost relatives if possible. Heritage travel is the name of the travel type, and it has been a trend for travelers. Seeing this as an opportunity, 23andMe and Airbnb collaborate to make this heritage travel service. 23andMe is one of many ancestry DNA tests and Airbnb is a bed and breakfast service. Once a person receives their DNA result, they could click through their ancestral populations and find Airbnb Homes and Experiences in their roots countries.

Airbnb stated that people are interested to do the heritage travel. They since 2014, the interest increase to 500% and people have been using their services to trace their roots since then.
