Heat Wave Attack in North India, The Temperature Reached 50 degrees Celsius

 

New Delhi, India - According to the weather department in New Delhi, the air temperature in the desert city of Churu in Rajasthan state, northern India has reached 50.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday (1/6/2019). The local government has issued a warning that there will be water shortages and heat stings that threaten the residents in North India.

Heat waves also hit almost all of Rajasthan region with several cities reaching maximum temperatures above 47 degrees Celsius. It is reported that the temperature in Northern India have reached the highest temperature at 51 degrees Celsius in May 2016 in the city of Phalodi.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department said, this heat wave attack can occur until a week ahead in the states of Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, until Uttar Pradesh. Unfortunately, several reports of deaths from heatstroke have also been recorded in the local governement.

Heat wave complaints have also been reported in the state of Himachal Pradesh which is on a plateau and is often the destination of India's wealthy residents to avoid the weather in the summer.

It is also reported that several major cities in India, including Chennai, the state of Tamil Nadu, and other cities to lack of water, after lakes and rivers began to dry up. Residents are also advised to stay indoors and reduce outdoor activities during the hottest time of the day and to save as many water as they can.
