Governor Anies : Four Policies during the Phase Two PSBB Transition

DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, Jakarta PSBB Transition will be extended for the next 14 days. This decision was taken after seeing the spread of the corona virus (Covid-19) still occurring in the capital region. The first phase of the PSBB transition is known to have taken place since June 5 and ends today, Thursday (2/7). Then Anies extended for the next 14 days.

"The PSBB (transition) in Jakarta will be extended in the next 14 days and will be evaluated again after we get the latest developments," Anies said at a press conference at the City Hall of DKI, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (1/7).

A number of policies have also been prepared by Anies in implementing this second phase of the PSBB transition. Following are a number of policies taken by Anies in implementing phase two PSBB transitions.

Tighten the Market and KRL

Anies emphasized that there are two areas that will be the focus of supervision of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The two areas still have the potential to become a center for the spread of the corona virus (Covid-19), namely the market and Commuter Line electric railroad.

School Not Opened yet

Anies also ensured that in the second phase of the PSBB the transition would not open learning activities at school. The former Minister of Education and Culture said schools would not be opened in the near future because children were the group most at risk of exposure and were carriers of the corona virus. Teaching and learning activities will still be carried out remotely, even though the new school year 2020/2021 begins on 13 July.

Demonstrations Keep Distance

During the first phase of the PSBB transition, a number of demonstrations took place in Jakarta. After being evaluated, in fact a number of demonstrations were carried out without maintaining distance. Therefore Anies stressed that the demonstration activities in the second phase of the PSBB transitional were required to apply a distance guard rule to prevent Covid-19 transmission.

32 Cycle Area

The car-free day (HBKB) or car free day (CFD) was reopened in the Sudirman-Thamrin area on June 21. However, at that time CFD instead caused a crowd of residents. Therefore, after just reopening a week, the DKI Provincial Government has again eliminated the CFD in the Sudirman-Thamrin area and replaced it by providing 32 cyclists areas in five areas of Jakarta.
