Jakarta, Indonesia - It is reported that the contribution rate for the Indonesia Health Insurance Program (JKN-KIS) managed by BPJS Health (BPJS Kesehatan) will be increased next year in 2020 in the new presidential regulation (pepres).
However, Deputy Minister of Finance Mardiasmo said the percentage increase in health insurance rates will not be equal for all classes.
The calculation will refer to the number of participants in each class, and the status of participants, for example civil servants or private employees.

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati also supporting this new policy she said the new government regulation will contain details of the BPJS Health contribution rate increase comprehensively for each class after the final meeting.

According to the source, the calculation of the BPJS Health fee contribution rate will also consider the ability of participants in the future, at least, in the next one to two years. So, the participants will be also interested in joining BPJS Health.

It is reported that the percentage and final nominal contribution rate will also be determined by the audit results of the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) issued at the end of August 2018.
