Google Investing to a Texas Data Center

Following Facebook who invested an amount of money to an Indian startup, another internet giant is investing a company as well. Google is reported to plan on investing to a Texas data center as much as $600 million.

Midlothian is a town which located about 25 miles from Dallas. This town can be categorized as an old town, because it was built in the 20th century. However, they are planning to develop the town by making a highway called U.S. Highway 67. Not only the highway, Midlothian is going to make a data center as well. This makes Google decided to invest on them.

Google actually has kept an eye on the town since last year. During that time, they quietly snapped up 375 acres in Midlothian's Railport industrial park. Google's head of public policy and community development Andrew Silvestri stated that the town has made a great process of development, which is why Google decided to invest to the town. Midlothian is one of the locations that is going to be invested by Google. They are planning to invest to other locations in Alabama, Virginia, and Tennessee.

With Google investing a data center in Midlothian, 50 job roles are expected to open. Previously, Google has employed about 1,100 people in Austin, Texas.

Other than in Midlothian, Google is planning to invest a data center in Pryor, Oklahoma. Although the investment is to expand the data center, Google is investing $600 million in Oklahoma.
