Gojek releases new feature for insurance

The biggest ride-hailing company in Indonesia GOJEK expands its services to the insurance sector. The company collaborates with PasarPolis, an insurance technology startup, to create a new insurance feature called GO-Sure.

The partnership between the two companies is not something new. PasarPolis has been backing up GOJEK’s drivers in Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam by covering their gadget insurance for the past few years. The company also supports GOJEK’s customers with accidental insurance.

GO-Sure isn’t available in the app right now since the new feature is still in Beta stage - developing and testing stage. Only selected users can use GO-Sure.

As the beginning, Gojek is now starting with travel insurance with two choices of Rp17,500 or Rp35,000. The procedure to book the insurance is simple where users just have to fill in the profile, date, flight type, and destination. The company also provides various payment methods to facilitate customers such as bank transfer, credit card, and Go-Pay.

Later, GOJEK plans to provides other insurance products like property, vehicle and healthcare insurance.

The existence of Go-Sure in Indonesia’s insurance industry will compete with the giant travel company Traveloka. The travel company in partnership with Asuransi Simasnet already provided travel insurance through Traveloka app.

As one of the Unicorn companies in Indonesia, GOJEK is eager to keep increasing its services and products for people across Southeast Asia. On June 2019, GOJEK has released its streaming service app named GO-Play which is claimed to be like Netflix and Hooq, a video-on-demand streaming app from Singapore.
