Former Prime Minister Abe's "City, People, Work Creation Conference", Prime Minister Suga will be removed from the chair
At a press conference on the 1st, Tetsushi Sakamoto, the minister in charge of regional revitalization, chaired the "City, People, and Work Creation Conference" aimed at correcting the overconcentration in Tokyo. Announced that he will change from Prime Minister to Mr. Sakamoto. The number of ministers will also be narrowed down from 17 to those related to regional revitalization. It is intended for practical and intensive discussions. "Creation of towns, people, and work" was the key policy of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
Mr. Sakamoto pointed out that "when a large number of ministers and the prime minister attend, there is a tendency for them to become mere corpses." He added, "We will secure sufficient time for discussions and establish a functional system as a production unit."
After the reorganization, it will consist of ministers of general affairs, welfare labor, agriculture, forestry and fisheries, economy and industry, land transportation, and education and science, and nine experts. Other ministers will also participate depending on the agenda. Chief Cabinet Secretary Katsunobu Kato and Vice-Chairman Mr. Sakamoto will not be appointed.
The meeting was set up by the Abe Cabinet in September 2014 together with the "City, People, and Work Creation Headquarters" headed by the Prime Minister. We conduct hearings and deliberations for formulating comprehensive strategies and basic policies.
