大阪で「ブラック・ライブズ・マター」 外国人ら行進

Foreigners Marching "Black Lives Matter" in Osaka

A demonstration in support of racial discrimination protests spread in the United States was held in the center of Osaka city on the 7th. Over hundreds of foreigners and Japanese participated and voiced “Black Lives Matter” (Black Lives Matter = black life is also important) wearing a new anti-coronavirus mask.

The demonstration is organized by foreigners and Japanese youths living in Kansai. When I called it on SNS, Naomi Osaka, a female professional tennis player, retweet in Japanese and was a hot topic. Participants gathered at Nakanoshima Park in Kita Ward, Osaka City, and walked about 1.5 km in front of the US Consulate General. In the square at the goal point, all the participants prayed and listened to the speeches of the organizers.

Maki Matsuoka (39) from Osaka City, who participated with her mother and daughter, said, "My relatives were in the United States, and I wanted to think about the issue of racism." My daughter, Juno (9), put up a handwritten message on a skateboard that she is good at, and said, "I was happy to meet many people. I want more people to know this."  (Taro Tamaki).
