Huawei laptops back to Microsoft’s store – Is that a good sign for Huawei?

Microsoft in May has removed Huawei notebooks from its store due to Trump administration for blocking the “Made in China” devices, but now these laptops are coming back to Microsoft’s online shop.

It sounds like a good sign for Huawei amid the trade war between Washington and Beijing, however, it is not. Microsoft only sells the existing stocks of Huawei notebooks, according to the Verge reports.

Through an official statement, Microsoft announced that its store is going to continue the sale of the remaining inventory of Huawei gadgets.

Huawei MateBook 13, MateBook D and MateBook X Pro are listed and available on the US Microsoft Store now. No new devices will be sold after the three Matebook models gone, including the new Huawei Matebook model will not sell in the US.

Customers who want to buy these devices have to think twice before purchasing them since it remains unclear whether Microsoft will keep supporting Huawei devices in terms of Windows updates.

Huawei Matebook series are using Windows 10 and Android for their operating systems, which make the Chinese tech giant still has to depend on the US companies for key elements.

Microsoft hasn’t released any official statement regarding the issue.

In early 2019, the US government added Huawei on its “entity list”, which restricts Huawei and US companies to work together.
Huawei has to postpone its plan to release a new MateBook laptop due to the limitation, said the CEO Richard Yu.
