Experts: Banning Huawei Could Lead to 5G Delay in US

While it seems that America is winning the fight, they might lose the fight on the turf of 5G network. On 15 May, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, announced an executive order that compels US to ban any “foreign” gadget that could pose a threat to their national security. One of the companies was Huawei.

With the ban running into effect ever since, Huawei’s products – both gadget and technical components – are forbidden in the Uncle Sam’s lawn. Most of the world suspect US is just afraid that China will someday hit back on them in term of technology. In addition, some tech giants, including Google and Facebook, are forced to turn their backs against Huawei as one of their Android users.

Nonetheless, is banning Huawei the right action? The world is entering the new era of 5G, and Huawei is one of its key players. If US bans Huawei, they have to brace themselves for the worst consequences: the Americans will have to wait a bit longer to enjoy the fast network.

Even Google stated that instead of saving our national security, severing their ties with Huawei could pose a breach to national security. How? By eradicating Android service from Huawei’s phone, they could make their own OS, worse than Android, and this OS most likely will be prone to hackers and other privacy breaches.

In other words, Huawei phone could be more prone to espionage, if they have their own weaker OS.

5G network’s speed is expected to be faster by 10 folds, compared to 4G. Therefore, when 5G begins to spread in global scale, futuristic features such as driverless cars, smarter healthcare, and faster, broader internet of everything are promised to enter our civilization.

By now, there are 3 countries, Japan, Australia and US, which have banned Huawei from entering their market, while England and Germany are still pondering what to do with Huawei. Meanwhile, France is enjoying their time with Huawei.

The Chinese themselves are not afraid, since Russia backs them up by embracing Huawei to their own arms, by signing a deal to take Huawei as one of their main contributors in establishing 5G in Russia. This, folks, could be the new, more advanced “Cold War” between the countries.
