Exceeds WHO Standards, Jakarta's Highest Corona Test Ratio

DKI Jakarta Province is recorded as an area in Indonesia with the highest number of corona virus specimens (covid-19) exceeding World Health Organization (WHO) standards. According to WHO standards, the corona specimen test ratio is 1 person per 1,000 population per week.

Based on data from the last three weeks, from 29 June to 19 July 2020, the corona test in Jakarta continues to increase reaching a ratio of almost 4 people per 1,000 population per week.

The number of test ratios is highest compared to the four other provinces in Java, namely West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java and Banten, which are no more than 0.5 people per 1,000 population.

There is no breakdown of the number of people tested. But in early July, DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan revealed that he had conducted 14 thousand tests per 1 million population in one week.

However, Jakarta's positivity rate in the past three weeks has still reached more than 5 percent, exceeding the ideal threshold set by WHO, which is less than 5 percent. The positivity rate is the ratio of the number of people tested with positive results obtained.

While the positivity rate of other provinces still varies. From the chart of WHO Indonesia report data, the positivity rate in West Java was at less than 5 percent. But the figure jumped to close to 15 percent in the second week, 6 July to 12 July 2020. At that time coincided with the discovery of a positive case at the Army Candidate School (Secapa) Army, Bandung.

Then in Central Java and East Java, the positivity rate is still very high, more than 20 percent. While Yogyakarta and Banten are under 5 percent.

The number of test ratios and positivity rate is known to be an indicator of public health surveillance to determine the corona risk zone map in the region.

To achieve safe risk zoning, an area must meet the number of diagnostic sample examination increases over the past two weeks and the positivity rate is low with a target of less than 5 percent.

Based on data from 22 July 2020, East Java is still the province with the highest cases at the national level, namely 19,093 cases, followed by DKI Jakarta with 17,621 cases.

However, the number of positive cases that continue to grow in Jakarta actually makes Anies grateful. He admitted that he was relieved to be able to find more people who indicated positive.
