Evacuated, Indonesian nationals' education in China is put under question

As the Indonesian students in Wuhan were evacuated due to the outbreak of the novel, deadly coronavirus, COVID-19, their parents are worried about their children's higher education in China. After being monitored for 14 days in Natuna, the students are tested negative for COVID-19 and ready to return home.

The students from Makassar will arrive in their hometown on Sunday night, while students from South Sulawesi will arrive on Monday.

As the Chinese government itself could not give any specific period of when they can go back to China to continue their education, the parents grew more relentlessly. They also have a request for the Indonesian government to help the children continue their education in Indonesia if the condition does not permit them to return to China.

Some of the students are studying in China with their own financial power. However, until now, there are no details about the continuation of their studies.

The local governments said that the education of the evacuee students will have their special attention. However, regarding the strategy and model of the implementation, it needs to wait.

Some universities already stated that they are ready to take in the students. With one condition: their majors are also available in the respective university.
