Ed Sheeran to Release New Album

The Grammy-winning star just will not rest. Ed Sheeran teased that on 12 July, a new album is coming on its way to hit the listeners with feels and loves again. The album is called “No. 6 Collaboration Project”, having been worked on since his "Divide" tours. In 2017, Sheeran’s album “÷” (Divide) won the Grammy for “Best Pop Vocal Album” at 60th Annual Grammy Awards.

The British took the world by storm with “Perfect”, sitting on the 1st place at Top Charts in more than 20 countries and remade into collaboration with famous Italian singer Andrea Bocelli (Perfect Harmony), and the American singer Beyonce (Perfect Duet). Both released in just 2 weeks intervals, on 1 – 15 December 2017.

For the fans, Ed Sheeran specially uploaded a teaser about the album’s tracklist onto YouTube. It is safe to say that fans are entertained by the teaser, seeing that it is certain that the British stays on fire about being prolific, despite the video only consists of censoring sounds, pretty much Sheeran’s way to tease his fans while giving love at the same time.

Well, of course, Sheeran did not want to spoil the fun. What kind of surprise, if you already know what is coming?

The album’s name is a sequel to the previous EP “No. 5 Collaboration Project”, where Sheeran collaborated with some renowned UK artists before rising into limelight. Therefore, for Sheeran, “No. 6 Collaboration Project” is an emotional homage and flashback where he recalls the time before he was signed by Asylum Records in 2011, and became what the man he is now.

Since then, he has released 3 albums (+, ×, ÷). Funny thing is now the album did not have any mathematical symbol in it, despite what fans hope to be either minus or any mathematical-related symbols. Sheeran also was featured in many award-winning songs, since then.

The first single teased for the new album featured the also Grammy-winning Canadian artist Justin Bieber in “I Don’t Care” with over 54 million views on YouTube. The MV took the internet by storm, since the green screen looks so obvious, but still Sheeran and Bieber once more make their listeners fall head over heels for the easy-listening song. Bieber and Sheeran are involved in this song as writers.

The second single for the album featured American rap artist Chance the Rapper, again a Grammy-winning star, and Rakim Hasheem Allen – better known as PnB Rock – in a song “Cross Me”. Both rappers are involved in the writing session of the song as well.

The world can pre-order the album since yesterday (23/5).
