Dimitar Berbatov to Become Man Utd's Technical Director

Once a Mancunian, will always be Mancunian. Manchester United is known for its loyal players and legends. Even when they have retired and gone out of the pitch, somehow destiny always finds way to make them turn back to the Theatre of Dreams.

Currently, Manchester United was searching for someone to be Technical Director for the team. This position acts as bridge between the team and the business mastermind behind the team.

Just a couple of weeks ago, ex United’s striker and Bulgarian soccer legend, Dimitar Berbatov, made a bold statement that he could be part of United’s managerial team, and he aimed to be the technical director, the position recently required.

Dimitar Berbatov, who was purchased from Tottenham Hotspurs in 2008 for £30.75 million, contributed in United’s one of the finest 5 seasons. Throughout the seasons, Manchester United secured either as champion of Premier League or as runner up, and came twice as runner ups in UCL Champions League 2008-2009 & 2010-2011.

With this run, all Manchunians acknowledge Dimitar Berbatov as one of the most influential icons in the club’s history, despite the fact that Dimitar Berbatov did not finish his remaining career at Old Trafford. Well, so does Wayne Rooney.

Watching how miserable United currently moves Berbatov’s heart and passion to bring the golden era back once more to Old Trafford.

As the matter of fact, the position of “Technical Director” at Manchester United has not existed yet. Nonetheless, as other clubs also have it, Man Utd might be needing one, and Berbatov boasted himself to be the candidate.

“I have a degree in Sports Management and coaching badges! I should be the man for the job,” said he. Darren Fletcher and Rio Ferdinand were the ones hailed to be fill the position. This degree and badges are the things that Berbatov put forth as his cannons for the job.

He studied Manchester United, and played for Manchester United; so, he thinks he is the right person.

Looking at the same analogy, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, the former United's player, became the manager of the team in March, from being caretaker after the sacking of Jose Mourinho. However, despite its first triumphs, United came 6th with no major achievements.

The point is that no matter who will take the job (regardless it is United's legends or not), he must be competent and know what he is doing.

Nonetheless, no official statement regarding the position is made from Manchester United. The position requires not only influence, but also wits. Judging Berbatov’s lack of experience, United has to reconsider him for a while. United just cannot pick someone green, or it will be a gambling once more. Since United needs certainty to bring back its fangs.
