Developing 6G, South Korea with Sony Ericsson and Nokia Doing Research

Seoul, South Korea - It is reported that after Samsung, South Korean telecom operator SK Telecom is working with Nokia and Ericsson to conduct research and development of 6G network, and will make a series of agreements to build and authenticate technology from 6G wireless networks.
Research and development will be carried out starting from the Ultra Reliable and Low Lantency (URRLC) process, Distributed Multiple Input and Multiple Output (MIMO) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), 28GHz band and 5G Stand-Alone (SA) network to be applied to future 6G networks.

Not only for the 6G development, this cooperation is also to improve the 5G network that has been running in South Korea two months ago. Ericsson, Nokia and Samsung Electronics are the main vendors in SK Telecom's network development.
According to the source, Ericsson, Nokia, and Samsung Electronic are the main suppliers of 5G network telecommunications equipment for SK Telecom. SK Telecom representative stated that, collaboration between companies like this will be important because technology and standards for 6G networks have not been clearly defined.

The South Korean Ministry of Science and Technology confirmed that, the number of 5G customers in his country have exceeded one million users on June 10. The increase in 5G users in South Korea reached an average of 17 thousand users each day starting on April 3, making everyone in the country as active internet users.
According to ZDNet, besides Ericsson and Nokia, Samsung said it would hold a 6G network research. To support this effort, the South Korean company has expanded its telecommunications research team and formed a group called the Advanced Research Center based in Seoul, South Korea.
